About Color by Number: Horror!: Paint Creepy Creatures from Witness Reports

Color by Number: Horror! puts a chilling twist on the classic paint-by-numbers format. The goal is to draw horrifying creatures documented in witness reports — but the creatures themselves will actively try to stop you. Completing each one adds it to a growing gallery of monsters, and the game also includes chilling witness photos that bring you closer to what's hiding in the dark. Several scenes show a background built from a repeating pattern of dark yellow-green upward-pointing chevron shapes.

The full roster spans 84 horror creatures, and beyond capturing them, there's also the option to create your own terrifying creatures. Cool, creepy effects round out the experience with genuine goosebumps-worthy moments.

How to Play Color by Number: Horror!

A numbered board appears at the center of the screen. Every cell on that board corresponds to a specific color in the palette below it. Select a color from the palette, then apply it to the matching numbered cell to gradually build up the creature's image.

The creature won't sit still — it actively erases cells as you work, so the picture fights back against your progress. Sometimes the situation demands speed, and other times the smarter approach is to focus on filling particular cells to keep pace with the erasure. Holding down the mouse button or pressing and holding with a finger lets you paint a line of cells in one continuous stroke.
