Space Sandbox
About Space Sandbox: Build and Destroy Your Own Universe
Space Sandbox is a bright 3D game where the entire premise is creative freedom — build a cosmic system, watch it evolve, or push it into spectacular chaos. From the moment you open it, the goal is clear: populate empty space with planets, moons, stars, gas giants, and black holes, then let gravity do the rest. You'll find no strict rules, no win conditions, and no failure states — just your experiments and their consequences.
The simulation tracks orbital trails beautifully, and ready-made scenarios give you a starting point if you'd rather tweak an existing system than build from scratch. Progress saves automatically, so a carefully balanced solar system is never lost between sessions.
Several scenes show a large yellow glowing sphere encircled by thin concentric rings with smaller bodies orbiting around it. One scene places a blue textured sphere with green and white patches at the center of the frame. Another moment shows a green wireframe cube containing a smaller green sphere inside it.
How to Play Space Sandbox
Placing and Selecting Objects
- Open the left menu and choose an object: planet, star, moon, gas giant, or black hole.
- Click anywhere on the space scene to place the chosen object.
- Click any existing object to select it.
Object Actions
Once an object is selected, several actions become available:
- Focus the camera on it
- Track it as it moves
- Boost it
- Stabilize its orbit
- Delete it
Simulation Controls
- Adjust time speed to watch planets move faster and observe how the system evolves.
- Adjust gravity to make the simulation calm, realistic, or chaotic.
Controls
- Left-click on scene: Place the selected object
- Left-click on object: Select it
- Double-click: Focus camera on an object
