Simple Checkers
About Simple Checkers: Russian Draughts and English Checkers
Simple Checkers brings two classic rule sets to one board game: Russian draughts and English checkers. Pick the mode that suits you, plan your moves carefully, capture your opponent's pieces, and work toward turning your checkers into kings. The game works equally well as a quick break or a focused session of logic and strategic thinking.
Circular pieces with concentric rings sit exclusively on the dark squares of the grid. In one scene, a single piece and an adjacent empty square are highlighted with a bright teal border.
How to Play Simple Checkers
Tap a checker to select it, then tap an available square to move it. When a capture is possible, the game highlights the available move for you. Movement and capture mechanics differ between Russian draughts and English checkers, so the rules shift depending on which mode is active.
Choose to face the computer or switch to two-player mode and compete with a friend on the same device. In two-player mode, both players take turns on the same screen.
Controls
- Tap a checker: Select that piece
- Tap an available square: Move the selected checker to that square
