About Mafia: Intrigue, Manipulation, and Strategic Moves

Mafia drops several players into a fictional city split between two factions — civilians and mafiosi. Civilians must identify which participants belong to the mafia clan, while the mafiosi work to eliminate their opponents and keep their identities hidden. The game draws on detective and strategic elements, pushing everyone to sharpen their observational, analytical, and stealth skills to come out on top.

A variety of roles means each player can find their place and apply their particular strengths. Several scenes show a row of houses with pointed roofs and many windows lit by a large low sun. A full moon and blue-tinted buildings appear across other views of the game's background scenery. In one scene, a man in a black suit and fedora holds a handgun.

How to Play Mafia

Start by selecting the number of players and entering everyone's names. From there, the game alternates between night and day phases, with the device passed between players to drive the action.

Night Phase

• Players are forbidden from talking during the night.
• It is advisable to put on a mask — a blindfold or simply close your eyes.

Day Phase

• All players remove their masks and place the phone on the table so every participant can see what is displayed on the device.
• Players look at who was killed during the night.
• A discussion follows, then a voting round where players pass the device to one another to cast their votes.
• A dead player cannot talk.

Controls

• Pass the device: Hand the phone to the next player during the night phase
• Remove mask: Uncover eyes when your turn arrives at night
• Continue button: Confirm your action and advance the turn to the next player
• Place phone on table: Display the screen to all players at the start of the day phase
• Pass device to vote: Hand the phone around during the day voting round
